My Resume
This isn’t a “real” resume. It’s just a casual way of seeing who I am, in case you’re interested in learning more about me, hiring me, giving me an awesome scholarship, or joining my fan club.
Forgive me for sounding a little pompous here. I couldn’t figure out a way to brag without sounding like that was what I was doing.
The Resume of Shaun Connell
From 2004 to 2008, I participated in the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association, a homeschool speech and debate competition. Awards included winning dozens of tournaments in both speech and debate. Among the awards are the 1st place at the 2005 Arkansas State Tournament in Policy debate, 1st place the 2006 Communicators for Christ Masters Tournament for Policy Debate, 4th place at the 2006 NCFCA National Tournament in Policy Debate and 6th place at the 2006 NCFCA National Tournament in Policy Debate.
From 2004-2005, I was the Assistant Coach of the PHD Forensics Club located in Batesville, Arkansas. Duties included teaching class, overseeing research homework, writing debate-theory articles and participating as a student.
In 2007, I entered the Voice of Democracy Essay Competition hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I won 1st place local, 1st place district, 1st place state and 13th place international for the competition. I won several thousand in scholarships and a free all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.
In 2007, I won a full paid scholarship to attend Cato University for a week-long course on free markets and economics. Was able to question and raise concerns regarding the philosophical holes of traditional libertarian views of social ethics.
From January of 2006 to January of 2008, I founded and presided over the Rebirth of Freedom Foundation, a youth-oriented policy analysis website. I managed the website until the organization’s retirement in January of 2008. The organization reached hundreds of thousands of people from around the world. In January of 2008, I founded and managed the Institute for Rational Christianity, an online apologetics resource for the rational theist. (Current site URL: www.RationalChristianity.org)
In April of 2008, I began networking with several students across the nation with the purpose of providing a comprehensive, free online guide to the economics of capitalism. Entitled “Capitalism Institute”, the free database is scheduled to be opened to the public in the Fall of 2009.
In the Spring of 2008, I became Assistant Editor and Website Manager of Articulate Magazine. The publication is a youth-oriented magazine that focuses on culture, religion and politics.
In early 2007, I began studying internet marketing, using CPC advertising programs to sell web-hosting products.
In early 2008, I began work as the office manager of KFFB radio station. Workplace education includes an intern-like atmosphere with CEOs, operation managers, professional salespersons and free business conventions.
In late September of 2008, I founded Stand Strong Media, a chain of websites and free tutorials dealing with financial planning and personal development. The web network is still in its early stages.
In early October of 2008, I published Learn Financial Planning, a free online series of tutorials and courses dealing with personal finance, career, business, credit and debt related topics. The website is still in its early stages. (Current site URL: www.LearnFinancialPlanning.com)
