Culture Flaws

I have often been challenged and ridiculed for my near-fanatical support of a certain unpopular philosophy of life … Read entire article »

The Weird Post

It infinitely amazes me to see how millions of weird and eccentric people try their hardest to be “normal”. To conform. To love listening to a band because everyone else loves the group. To love a movie because everyone else loves the flick. To view the state in the same fashion that most other people that they know view it, because they are absolutely horrified at the idea of being a “radical” or “extremist”. To see them react in horror at their secret identity, the weirdo inside us all. Yes, this is a strange entry. Yes, you are weird. You have weird thoughts at weird times. In the middle of conversations with other people, you think of something that you’d like to say, but don’t. It’s okay. Ironically, everybody’s the same … Read entire article »

Rebirth of Freedom Projects

As many of you know, I’m the web-master/president of the Rebirth of Freedom Foundation. Until now, the web-site was used as a super-small policy analysis collaboration project of a handful of enthusiastic teenage conservatives and libertarians. Like most organizations, the RoFF is getting older. I’m pleased to announce the start of a new series of projects that the RoFF will be hosting. Rather than simply posting a one or two page essay on each policy, the RoFF will be hosting several “mini”-sites. These mini sites will be exhaustive info-sites that could easily stand on their own. The project will take several months and/or years to comprehensively complete. The topics that will be exhaustively covered will include, but are not limited to: Gun Control Copyright Laws Immigration The Philosophy of Liberty As the project matures, the RoFF … Read entire article »

Ron Paul Revolution

I am completely convinced that Ron Paul is the best candidate for the presidency of the United States. Ron Paul is the only person running who remotely reflects the libertarian philosophy and policies. Dr. No is a breath of fresh air. The other candidates and politicians speak of “freedom” and mean “restriction.” … Read entire article »

Liberty

One of the greatest passions of my life is the theory of liberty. The idea that violence is rarely justified, and that people ought to resolve their differences through reason and discussion, rather than violence and coercion. A few days ago I decided to give a relatively simple explanation regarding the theory and it’s implications. Here is the result: The Liberty Theory. … Read entire article »

A Reason to Live

These past few days I’ve been rereading the book Tuesdays with Morrie, written by Mitch Albom. It’s a beautiful book about a beautiful story that teaches a lesson so gorgeous that words can do no justice. The book spent six years on USA Today’s bestseller list. It’s changed millions of lives, with a very simple message. “Love wins. Love always wins.” I first read it two years ago. That was the first and last time I’ve ever cried while reading a book. The message was so simple that it seemed at first absurd. “Love wins. Love always wins.” The author of the book is Mitch Albom. He’s caught up in the business of life, and has little time to stop and feel the life that he lives. That changes when he discovers … Read entire article »

Light the Dark

This my decision, my path, my course, no turning back. This is who I am, who I must be, I can be nothing else. I’m slave of freedom, a warrior of its cause. Take it and die. Laugh with the enemy, sometimes it’s lonely at the cross, my cross, the cross of honor. Morality is all, they are nothing. There’s no honor in suicidal genius. My fight, my battle, this is my war. Call it dark, I’ll call it the right, ’cause without a little darkness there’s no need for the lights. … Read entire article »

My Platform

After looking over the other candidates, I’ve decided to run for president. Considering I’m under-aged, I guess I won’t get many votes. Oh, well, it’s just something to do, I guess. Below is my platform. I’ll be updating it as I think of more issues to add and discuss. Disagree with any of it? I’m open minded — let’s discuss it. The Shaun R. Connell Platform The Purpose of the State The state is but a business of persons organized to unleash force upon others. It can be used for either good or bad — usually bad. The political business has no moral abilities except those abilities which the individual has, for the political business is, at root, a collection of individuals. Government should not violate the negative rights of the people, and … Read entire article »
