Great Marketing is Vital to Success, Period.

Some organizations rely on voluntary support. This is completely fine, because some organizations are just based on an appeal to our sense of goodwill. If they think that relying on donations rather than commerce is the best way to achieve their goals, then they should certainly use that approach. But this doesn’t mean that in-your-face requests for money are justified. For profit or not for profit, it doesn’t matter: great marketing is vital to the success of any organization, and being nice to donation “customers” is just as important as if they’re selling a product. I got a letter yesterday by the local humane society. I think they’re doing a fine job at taking care of the local critters, and am glad they’ve found purpose in it. But I instantly threw their … Read entire article »

The Make Money Online Article

Entire books have been written explaining various ways to make money online. Yet several years ago when I first began my online business journey, I simply couldn’t find one article which explained the entire process. Instead, I spent my time reading a bit on domains, a bit on hosting, a bit on marketing, a bit on link building, a bit on advertisements, and wasted time bouncing from one article to another, often more confused than when I started. Such a hodge-podge, hit and miss approach to learning how to successfully make money online wasted months, while I spent countless hours while committing horrible errors. One comprehensive how-to article would have changed my life. This article is to fill in the gap, and provide you with a one-stop tutorial that covers the basics … Read entire article »

The Make Money Online Community

I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and make a kind of sappy post. I read most of the popular “MMO” blogs, like Copyblogger, Problogger, Courtney’s Internet Marketing School, along with the inevitable blog of Seth Godin. There are dozens of others that I’m subscribed to. I’ve always loved reading the comments on these blogs. To be honest, I probably have “better” things to do with my time. But I can’t help but notice the different types of people that the MMO industry attracts. These are individuals who are thinking outside of the box. They have a concrete idea of what they want, which is more than a lot of people. But not only do they have dreams, they also are in the “plan” or “action” stage, actively attempting to … Read entire article »

Definition For Marketing

In the past year or so, I’ve completely fell in love with marketing. I love reading Seth Godin’s blog, as well as a lot of other journals on marketing, especially those with an internet marketing twist. Copyblogger is amazing. What’s interesting is seeing how each of the “gurus” really see marketing. Definitions are everything, and business is no exception. There are billions of little text-book definitions. But, like a lot of what you find in textbooks, the definition is static, without life. Take the American Marketing Association’s definition, for example: “The process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational objectives.” Master marketer Sergio Zyman, who has had tenures with Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and Proctor & Gamble defines marketing … Read entire article »

Stop Ignoring the Smart People

The biggest business “sucker” is the person who buys because of emotion. An emotional sales pitch leaves them with a lame PDF and an empty wallet. Unfortunately, there are tons of these people. Unfortunately, a lot of greedy “marketers” have noticed this. They target the sucker, so they can suck money from the poor little mental sapling. It seems both sinister and kind of smart. After all, you don’t have to have a great product if you are targeting the morons of the world, right? They’re morons, for Thor’s sake. They live their life making dumb decisions. They might as well make one that makes someone some money, right? Most internet marketing scams do that. Rather than provide a quality service for a fee (like Ken Envoy’s Site Build It! or Brian … Read entire article »
